OPERATION GERANIUM
Isle of Wight Community Project
Our community project grows and distributes geraniums to elderly people across the Isle of Wight, spreading joy, strengthening human connection and supporting wellbeing in later life.
What Is Operation Geranium?
• Grows and Distributes Geraniums
We are a volunteer-led community project that gifts geraniums to elderly people across the island, bringing colour and a reminder that they are cared for. Each delivery helps brighten someone’s day and reduce feelings of loneliness, helping older people feel seen, valued, and connected.
• Promotes the Wellbeing of Elderly with Local Events
Through local events, Operation Geranium helps raise awareness of the challenges faced by elderly people, particularly loneliness and isolation. By bringing the community together around this cause, we aim to inspire understanding, encourage support, and promote the wellbeing of older people across the island.

• Collaborates with Age UK
Operation Geranium works closely with Age UK Isle of Wight and local care homes to raise awareness of the importance of supporting elderly people within our community. Through collaboration on events and outreach, we highlight the impact of loneliness and encourage meaningful connections that help older people feel supported, included, and valued.
